Dr. Jeffrey P. Krall , O.D.
Dr Jeff Krall

Dr. Jeffrey P. Krall initially began his college career in the field of aviation. Although he is still an aviation enthusiast, he ultimately chose the field of Optometry. Dr. Jeff completed his undergraduate coursework at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 1988 and completed post-clinical studies at the Great Lakes Naval Academy. After receiving his degree, Dr. Krall returned to his home state joining Krall Eye Clinic as a fourth generation optometrist.

Currently, Dr. Jeffrey is a partner of Krall Eye Clinic and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Dakota Optometric Society. Dr. Krall has lectured internationally in Paris and at the Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand, where he is a past international consultant to the Thai Optometric Foundation Board. Dr. Krall has conducted clinical studies and trials for both contact lens and progressive multifocal and specializes in binocular disorders.

Dr. Krall is as passionate about his involvement in the community as he is about his profession. He is currently President of the Mitchell Area Board of Development Corporation and a member of the Dakota Wesleyan University Board of Trustees. He serves on numerous local boards and charities, in addition to being an active member of his church.

Mitchell has been the life-long home of Dr. Jeffery and his wife Cindy. They, along with their three children, enjoy activities the varied South Dakota seasons have to offer.

 

Dr. Joseph J. Krall , O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr Joe Krall

Dr. Joseph continues in the tradition of previous generations in Optometry.  He completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Dr. Joseph received his Optometric Degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1992. After completing studies at ICO, where he received the CIBA Vision Outstanding Clinician award, he began practicing at Krall Eye Clinic. Dr. Krall is a member of the South Dakota Optometric Society and in 1999 became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Currently, Dr. Krall is a partner at Krall Eye Clinic, where he has a passion for all aspects of Optometry from routine eye examinations to the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and eye injuries. He has conducted studies and trials for both contact lens and prescription wear.  He also provides satellite services outside the  Mitchell area.

Dr. Krall is an active member of many community and charitable organizations.  He currently is an active member of The Avera Queen of Peace Hospital Foundation, Knights of Columbus, Exchange Club, Bull Bash, and past president of Pheasant Country.  He also enjoys being involved in Holy Spirit Catholic Church and John Paul II Elementary School where he sits on the school board.

Dr. Joe and his wife, Julie, have two children. They enjoy spending time with their extended family and living on Lake Mitchell, where boating and waterskiing are some of their favorite pastimes.



Kimberly Cross

Kim Cross

Kim has been employed at Krall Eye Clinic since 1995. Her cumulative experience in the eye industry totals over 25 years! Kim currently serves as the clinic office manager. Her history at Krall Eye Clinic enables her to understand how all areas of our patient care tie together. Kim shifts from direct patient care to the oversight of various clinical operations with phenomenal ease. She facilitates the pulse of activity within the clinic and also coordinates services outside the clinic. She evaluates the safety wear needs of surrounding industries, and organizes services provided to a nearby satellite clinic.

Kim is married to Jim Cross. They were wed in 1985 and have three children. The entire family enjoys spending time together engaged in the sport of rodeo.

 


Karen Carmody-Feterl
Karen Carmody-Feterl Karen has worked at Krall Eye Clinic since 1999. Karen excels in every area of patient care at the clinic. She is a key player in the comprehensive care given to our patients. She will start with them in their initial screening and when physician directed, she will finish by providing a Visual Fields or OCT scan. In addition, Karen plays a vital role in the clinics' inventory by using the tracking and tagging system for eye wear.

Karen is a longtime resident of Mitchell. She has been married to her husband Brad since 1999. When Karen isn't busy keeping up with her four grown sons she enjoys playing Bunko with her friends!

 

Tammy Bassett

Tammy Bassett

Tammy has been an employee of Krall Eye Clinic since 2001. Tammy is indispensable to the clinic's Claims Department. Her experience and understanding regarding Medicare, Medicaid and other types of insurance is an invaluable tool for both the patients and staff of Krall Eye Clinic.

Tammy and her husband Tim have been married since 1987. Although she has lived in Mitchell her entire married life, she originally hails from southern Louisiana! Tammy enjoys going for walks in her spare time.

Julie Hoffman

Julie Hoffman

Julie has been with the clinic since 2007. Julie's role as bookkeeper keeps internal operations running smoothly. However, like many of the clinic staff, she is able to multi task! She readily transitions from one area of service to another, so don't be surprised if you see her in the reception area answering the phone and booking appointments!

Julie and her husband Ryan have been married since 2006. They farm north of Alexandria, SD. Julie is devoted to their little boy but she loves shopping in her free time!

Kellie began her employment with Krall Eye Clinic in 2009. Her enthusiasm and genuine concern for patients is evident the moment you meet her! Patients are in capable hands when Kellie cares for them. She enjoys working in the entire spectrum of services...screening assessments, visual fields testing, and frame selection.

Kellie and her husband Jerry have been married since 2005 and have two daughters. They enjoy camping, golfing, board game night and Vikings games. Go Vikes!

 

Carl Ernst

Krall Eye Clinic is pleased to employ the services of Optician Carl Ernst since April, 2010. Carl brings over 25 years of experience and takes tremendous pride in personalizing the dispensing of eye wear at the clinic by ensuring a proper and comfortable fit! In addition, Carl keeps extremely busy in the lab. Krall Eye Clinic is the only private practice in the region to have its own surfacing lab. Carl is able to custom grind most prescriptions "in house" without delay. This allows better turnaround time for patients, as well as a quick response to those "emergency eye wear" situations.

Carl and his wife Kim have been married since 1985. They have a grown son who lives in Colorado Springs, CO. Their days are full with farm work and owning/running a bed and breakfast in DeSmet, South Dakota.

 

 

Deb Billotto

She's back! Deb initially began her employment with Krall Eye Clinic in 1997. She returned to the clinic in August of 2010 after 6 years of residing near Washington, DC. Staff and patients alike are thrilled to see her return. Deb's previous history with the daily operations of the clinic has allowed her to swiftly transition into multiple roles. Deb works at the front desk and screens patients, but one of her favorite areas of service is frame selection. Deb says she loves styling because, "it's great to see how good patients feel about themselves when they find eye wear they love".

Deb has five children. She enjoys the age ranges of her kids! It keeps her busy whether she's attending sports activities or doing pre-school projects at home...she loves it all!

Melissa Goldammer

Melissa Goldammer

Melissa has been with Krall Eye Clinic since August of 2010. Her pleasant smile has welcomed many patients! Melissa is often one of the first staff members patients meet as she administers preliminary diagnostic tests in the Screening Room. However, she may also "wrap up" a patient's visit by helping them in their frame selection once their exam is complete.

Melissa is originally from Baltic, SD. She and her 5 year old daughter enjoy their time reading books, playing games…and of course Barbies! Melissa also enjoys outdoor activities, boating and camping to name just a few.
